What is job satisfaction?
As an individual, people are considered as either employee, entrepreneur or dependents . Employee ratio can be defined as the employment to population ratio, which the number of persons who are employed as percent of the total employable population. According to D Clark In 2021 Estimated employment ratio worldwide was approximately 55.9% which is greater than half of the global population. (Clark, 2021). The subject of job satisfaction came as in an vital factor in modern business management as more than the half the world population are employed in organizations .In modern management job satisfaction has become a philosophy.
Job satisfaction is defined in many ways by many authors.
- Job satisfaction can be defined as the feeling about job or how an employees feel about their daily job activities . This is something extended to their daily duties to cover satisfaction with team, policies, and impact of their work on employee’s personal lives.(Basuamllick ,2021)
- Job satisfaction, by definition, is a state of pleasant or positive affection that develops in the process of evaluating a person's work experience. In this case, job satisfaction is gradually taken as a work reflection. ( Zhu, 2015)
Factors of Job satisfaction
Job Satisfaction is related to the psychology of the employee. A satisfied and contented employee in a job is always is encouraged to contribute more of his out put .Similaly on the contrary a dissatisfied employee becomes indifferent, makes mistakes, and becomes a burden to the company. Factors that contribute to job satisfaction are:
- Compensation and working condition
- Work life balance
- Respect and recognition
- Job security
- Challenges
- Carrier growth
- Organization and internal environment
- Management attitude and employee relations

Impact of employee empowerment to increase job satisfaction.
In the modern world of business where business environment is changing rapidly , organizations need to put more effort into enhance their capabilities , It should not be forgotten that the ability and competitive advantage of any organization relies on commitment, motivation, contented and innovative people. A discourse on employee empowerment has become popular in folklore In the literature for many years, however, this concept has been the subject of continuous study in modern competitive business world.
The modern management uses employee empowerment as a primary tool to build trust and confidence between employee and management, which help to encourage the active participation of employee in decision making as well . It is believed that the human profile of modern organizations can be enhanced in order to achieve excellence at Cooperate levels, through team spirit, self-confidence ,and innovation(Inspired people)
A direct relationship can be seen between employee empowerment, job satisfaction and performance as below,

Employee empowerment is one of those terms that everyone thinks they understand, but few really do.it is derived from various approaches and fields of study such as psychology, economy, education, and social and organizational studies. HRM deals with the administering and organizing human resource of organization Graham, H. T., & Bennett, R. (1998). This is done in a way that HR managers are always busy in making different policies from recruitment to providing benefits to the employees. They are responsible to bring best talent to the organization and then make policies and procedures to retain them. HR is always helpful in making organization successful by their performance in bringing best talent and through their competitive policies and procedures to retain that best talent and Lu, H., While, A. (2005). reported that job satisfaction is immensely researched domain in order to examine the organizational actions, deeds and performance, while empowerment is a much new concept to the organizations.
